Canadian Government To Make Formal Apology For Native Residential Schools

The Canadian government will make a formal apology for forcing Native aboriginal children in attending residential schools many years ago. Even though these native residential schools were closed down decades ago, the after effects still exist today as many native people lost much of their own culture including language and religion as well as identity. This federal program of residential schools also applied to the Inuit communities up in the far north Arctic as well. For interesting information articles and videos, see Native Aboriginal Culture.
